I created “Straight From The Go” to dispel the belief that Chicago is by nature a violent city that has no interest in creating a safe community where citizens can live in peace and harmony. I was determined to make a difference by changing the image of my great city and rejecting the name Chi-Raq.
Our Mission
The mission of the Straight From The Go Foundation is to address negativity and gun violence in the city of Chicago by promoting positivity and harmony. We empower individuals to peacefully resolve conflict and inspire youth to reach their full potential in every aspect of their lives. Our goal is to forge connections between unlikely allies, fostering collaboration and understanding, to create a safer and more unified community for all.

Founder & CEO
A graduate of The University of Missouri in Columbia with Cum Laude honors, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., is currently pursuing a second degree in textile apparel management (product development). During her time as a 17-year-old National Honor Society student at Morgan Park High School, she founded Straight From The Go. Motivated by civic pride, she aimed to counteract negative perceptions of the city with positivity. Over time, she has addressed numerous audiences and received various accolades, notably becoming the youngest recipient of the Norman Bobbins award for her dedication to fostering positive change. A percentage of all product proceeds is dedicated to supporting victims of gun violence and the families of fallen first responders.
